چکیده

With the development of remote sensing technology, satellite-based soil moisture estimates become more and available, potential using satellite products in landslide hazard assessment has been widely recognized. However, to our knowledge, there is a lack studies exploring performance difference various for such an application. Therefore, this study aims compare several state-of-the-art on their potentials applications. The selected include ESA CCI dataset, SMAP Level-3 (L3), enhanced Level-4 (L4) surface, root zone datasets. Specifically, completeness different datasets calculated assess applicability practical To investigate relationship between commonly used rainfall information predictions, correlation with antecedent cumulated also carried out. In addition, explore whether can provide valuable assessment, infiltration events are identified based time series moisture, significance event characteristics (such as duration, change, etc.) occurrence then investigated Bayesian analysis. This out landslide-prone area, Emilia-Romagna region northern Italy. Results show that L4 product does not have any missing values, beneficial continuous monitoring landslides. As rainfall, rational spatial distribution Pearson coefficients compared other datasets, which be better explained by slope TWI (topographic wetness index). analysis shows prior knowledge probability improved ‘SMAP moisture’-derived events, indicating its greater region.

Evaluation of the potential of NASA multi-satellite precipitation analysis in global landslide hazard assessment

[1] Intense storms with high-intensity, long-duration rainfall have great potential to trigger rapidly moving landslides, resulting in casualties and property damage across the world. In recent years, through the availability of remotely sensed datasets, it has become possible to conduct global-scale landslide hazard assessment. This paper evaluates the potential of the real-time NASA TRMMbased...

Assessment of landslide hazard models in Chamsangar basin

Landslide mapping is one of the approaches (which can be) used to define the slope stable critical areas and the maps prepared based on this demarcating are used in desining sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to compare the landslide susceptibility mapping models based on Fuzzy logic, Information value and area Density applied in the Chamsangar watershed. According to the tec...

Upscaling Sparse Ground-based Soil Moistureobservations Forthe Validation of Coarse-resolution Satellite Soil Moisture Products

[1] The contrast between the point-scale nature of current ground-based soil moisture instrumentation and the ground resolution (typically >10 km) of satellites used to retrieve soil moisture poses a significant challenge for the validation of data products from current and upcoming soil moisture satellite missions. Given typical levels of observed spatial variability in soil moisture fields, t...

Landslide hazard assessment: recent trends and techniques

Landslide hazard assessment is an important step towards landslide hazard and risk management. There are several methods of Landslide Hazard Zonation (LHZ) viz. heuristic, semi quantitative, quantitative, probabilistic and multi-criteria decision making process. However, no one method is accepted universally for effective assessment of landslide hazards. In recent years, several attempts have b...
